Getting ready for the Fourth of July weekend means preparing for flash flooding, according to forecasters with the National Weather Service.
Forecasters have issued a flash flood watch, warning people they should be ready for flash flooding if they go camping on area streams when heavy rain begins Thursday night.
One to three inches of rain falling on the area could lead to flash flooding.
That means campers should place campsites high enough to avoid flash flooding and should pay attention to approaching storms.
Counties covered by the watch include Dent, Howell, Oregon, Shannon, Texas, Barry, Christian, Douglas, Greene, Lawrence, McDonald, Newton, Ozark, Stone, Taney, Webster and Wright counties.
