Bobby Earl Shepherd, 64, son of Oliver and Lucy Holden Shepherd, was born Dec. 27, 1943, at Licking. He died Aug. 5, 2008, at his home near Montauk.

He started cutting cord wood at an early age and worked several years cutting logs with his brother, Ed. He would sing on his way home from the log woods and on Saturday mornings on the way to town.

He married Velma Gorman Nov. 4, 1967. They had three children.

He enjoyed raising hogs, family get-togethers, eating and visiting with friends and family.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, George, Henry and Ed Shepherd; and two sisters, Fay Trolinger and Goldie Moore.

Surviving are his wife of the home; two sons, Bobby of Eldon and Billy of Licking; one daughter, Ann Giller of Licking; three sisters, Ruby Walker, Sylvia Blankenship and May Blankenship of Licking; and 10 grandchildren.

Services were Aug. 7 at the Fox Funeral Home Chapel in Licking with Mike Gorman officiating. Burial was in the Patterson Cemetery.
