ABOUT AVA: After losing their opener 43-8 at Marshfield, the Bears rebounded with a 16-12 win Friday at Willow Springs. …Quarterback Tyler Williams had a pair of touchdown passes to Jake Plumb in the victory, including a 28-yarder early in the fourth quarter that proved to be the winning score. Williams takes over for Jonathan Batchellor, last year’s SCA offensive player of the year. …Houston’s last win against Ava was a 26-6 victory in 2005. The Bears have won 42-9 and 45-21 the past two seasons.
