ABOUT GROVE: The Panthers rebounded from a 21-13 loss to Thayer by beating Liberty 42-26 last week. …Junior tailback Evan Williams had a monster game in the Panthers’ victory against Liberty. He had 455 yards on 24 carries – a 19.0 average – and six touchdowns. Williams had a pair of 80-yard scores to go along with 60- and 55-yard touchdowns. … Quarterback Casey White returns for his third season as a starter. White threw for 1,852 yards and 21 touchdowns last season to earn all-state honors. …Mountain Grove hasn’t lost a conference game since a 14-7 loss to Willow Springs in 2004.

TIGER TIDBITS: Sophomore Jacob Case was the third player in three games to be called upon for PAT duties, following David Weybright and Adam Fleming. Case made three of his four attempts against Ava. Houston coach Chris Edwards said Kyle Poynter, who was granted eligibility last week, could be included in the mix as well. ” We’re trying to find some consistency,” Edwards said. “It’s part of a game you can’t overlook. It’s a lost art form these days.”
