The publisher of the Houston Herald was among those recently elected to the board of directors of the Missouri Press Association.
Brad Gentry was among those elected to the lead the association during the next year. Members voted by mail and fax.
Named to the board were: Vicki Russell, Columbia Daily Tribune, president; Sandy Nelson, Cass County Democrat-Missourian, first vice president; Kevin Jones, St. Louis American, second vice president; Richard Gard, St. Louis Daily Record, secretary; Linda Geist, Monroe City Lake Gazette, treasurer; and Jack Whitaker, Hannibal Courier-Post, past president. Directors name are: Joe May, Mexico Ledger; Mark Maassen, Kansas City Star; Jon Rust, Southeast Missourian; Dennis Warden, Gasconade County Republican; Kate Martin, Perry County Republic-Monitor and Gentry.
