Jewel “Judy” Lee Honeycutt Skeen died Monday, Nov. 3, 2008, at Texas County Memorial Hospital.

She was born June 28, 1933, in Oklahoma City, daughter of J.W. “Will” Honeycutt Sr. and Thema Leo Trimble Honeycutt.

She grew up in Cabool and was baptized at the First Baptist Church in June 1944. She graduated from Cabool High School in 1951 and attended Drury College. She married Don Skeen one semester shy of receiving her degree in business administration. Following a divorce, she returned with her daughters to Cabool in 1971 and joined the Honeycutt Chevrolet business and later Cabool Lease.

She enjoyed spending hours with her grandchildren as well as reading, playing cards, especially bridge, and working with her flowers in the spring.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Betty Jo Honeycutt.

Survivors include three daughters, Susan Dawn Skeen, Laura Ann Mosca and Stacy Jo of Cabool; a brother, J.W. “Bill” Honeycutt Jr. of Cabool; five grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter.

Memorial services were Friday, Nov. 7, at First Baptist Church in Cabool with the Rev. Robin McGonigle officiating.
