Laura Lee Park, 76, of Bowling Green, died Thursday, Oct. 30, 2008, at St. Luke’s Hospital West in Chesterfield.

She was born Sept. 8, 1932, in Ottawa, Kan., the daughter of Ralph Carl and Etta Matilda Merckling Rowen. She and George Calvin Park were married March 13, 1952, in Houston.

She was raised in Texas County before moving to St. Louis where she went to high school. She was a longtime resident of St. Charles County before moving seven years ago to Bowling Green.

She was a member of the American Legion Post #370 Auxiliary in Louisiana and VFW Post #5553 Auxiliary in Bowling Green. She was a former member of the St. Charles Auxiliary Police. She enjoyed raising and spending time with her children and grandchildren. She also enjoyed playing Bingo and cooking for people.

Survivors include two sons, Calvin Lee Park of O’Fallon and Leslie Ray Park of Pahrump, Nev.; two daughters, Sharon Louise Hull of Henderson, Nev., and Rowena Fern Grigsby of Bowling Green; 12 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; six sisters, Gladys Mick Smith of Crystal City, Joyce Evelyn McCartney of Pacific and Juanita Frances Jameson, Della Darlene Erbschloe, Emma June Williams and Norma Pauline Rowen of Raymondville.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband on Sept. 20, 1983; two brothers; two sisters; and a grandson.

Services are 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 7, at Mudd-Veach Funeral Home in Bowling Green with Lay Pastor Emily Smith officiating. Burial is in St. Charles Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
