Sydney Cremer hit a 16-foot jumper with 0.6 seconds left in regulation to force overtime, and Alissa Bowlin scored four points in the second overtime as the Houston seventh grade girls defeated Licking 26-23 Thursday night in their season opener.

The eighth grade made it a sweep under first-year coach Jennifer McNiell with a 38-32 win.

Bowlin scored a team-high 14 points for the seventh grade, which led 11-1 at the half. Licking outscored the Lady Tigers 12-2 in the third quarter to tie the game. Neither team scored in the first overtime.

Maddie Vandiver, Sierra Weaver and Cremer scored three points each.

In the eighth grade game, Demi Pittman scored six of her team-high 10 points in the fourth quarter as Houston built a double-digit lead.

Alexa Ichord had seven points and Amber Sillyman added five for the Lady Tigers, who led 18-10 at the half.
