Carol Fay Banks Smith, 60, died Saturday, Dec. 27, 2008, at Cox South Hospital in Springfield.
She was born Nov. 25, 1948, in Spring Valley, daughter of James Earl Banks and Hazel Mae Campbell Banks. She and Gary Wayne Smith were married July 30, 1965.
She worked alongside her husband at the family business for 38 years. She enjoyed spending time with her six grandchildren and was an avid golfer.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, John Houston Banks; and a sister, Betty Jane Boyet.
Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Karen Sue Smith Copeland and Traci Nicole Smith Henson; a son, Stacy Wayne Smith; six grandchildren; two sisters, Shirley Jean Patton and Kathleen Martin; two brothers, James Kenneth Banks and Harold Dean Banks; and many nieces and nephews.
Graveside services were Tuesday, Dec. 30, at Munsell Cemetery in Eminence with the Rev. Robert Medley officiating. It was under the direction of Bradford Funeral Home.
