Edward Wayne Hayes, age 51, son of Ray Raymond and Sylvia (Brannam) Hayes, was born January 18, 1957, in Houston, Mo. He died December 23, 2008, in a car accident on Hwy 63 north of Houston, Mo.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, William Hayes.
He is survived by his wife Crystal of the home; one son, Eddie of Houston, Mo.; two daughters, Heather Hayes of Houston and Angela Courtney of Raymondville, Mo.; one grandchild, Ezekiel Dalton Wayne Grange; seven brothers, Darrell Hayes of Wichita, Kan., Wesley Hayes, Marvin Hayes, Richard Hayes, Ron Hayes, Billy Hayes all of Houston, Mo., and Darrin Hayes of Bucyrus, Mo.; four sisters, Norma Cooksey of Sacramento, Calif., Marjorie Stroup of Houston, Mo., Patricia Hayes of Roseville, Calif., and Linda Garner of Licking, Mo.
He loved hunting, fishing and working on small engines until his health wouldn’t permit him any longer.
The thing he enjoyed the most was spending time with Ezekiel, his grandson. They would listen to music videos and play guitars together. When it was time for Ezekiel to give lovins, Papa would always nibble on his ears and make him giggle and he would say “Papa ears.”
He loved his family and we will miss him a lot, but we know that he is only sleeping and we will see him again when our Savior returns to take home the righteous.
My love started small just 29 years ago, but as the days and the years passed by my love grew bigger and bigger till my heart almost burst. I will miss the man I fell in love with just a few short years ago. (Crystal Hayes)
The family will hold a memorial service at a later date. Cremation was under the direction of Evans Funeral Home.
