Grace Edith Stenger, 91, of Riverton, Kan., died Monday, Dec. 15, 2008, at St. John’s Regional Medical Center following an illness.
She was born June 3, 1917, in Raymondville, daughter of Walter and Nellie Beasley Cochran. She and Sam Robbins were married 20 years. He died in 1965. She and Wes Stenger were married July 21, 1984 in Baxter, Kan.
She was a teacher at Brown Hill School in Licking before working 38 years in St. Louis for Waggoners, where she was involved in the production of military goods. She was a member of the Riverton Friends Church in Riverton, Kan.
Survivors include her husband, Wes, of the home; a stepson, Mark Stenger of Alabama; two stepdaughters, Sheryl Mallory of Baxter Springs, Kan., and Janice McCaslin of Oklahoma City; a brother, Russell Cochran of Denver, Colo.; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services are 1 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 19, at Allen Cemetery in Raymondville.
