Organizers said more than 250 children across the county have applied for assistance in the 24th annual “Share Your Christmas” campaign that brightens the holiday for those needing a boost.
Pat Miller, the coordinator, said Tuesday that 255 children have applied, representing 110 families. Roughly about one-third of the cases have been adopted.
Several organizations made contributions during the last week: Eunice Baptist Church, Piney Art League, Forbes’ Pharmacy, Corner Express and employees, Houston High School Student Council, Houston High School National Honor Society, Houston Sportswear, Houston Lions Club, Ozark Trail Realtor Association, Dr. Mark Dake and staff, Brown’s Shoe Store and Fraternal Order of Eagles.
The annual drive operates from the basement of the Houston Lions Club on North U.S. 63.
