The Houston eighth girls outscored Ava 21-8 in the second half to pull away for a 29-16 road victory Tuesday night.
Demi Pittman scored eight points and Alexa Ichord had six for the Lady Tigers (5-1), who managed just four points in the first and second quarters. The teams were tied 8-all at the half.
The seventh grade Lady Tigers also improved to 5-1 with a convicing 38-8 victory against Ava.
Alissa Bowlin scored a game-high 15 points, including a 3-pointer. Sierra Weaver and Taylor Franklin scored six points each.
