Alma Jane Wiseman Buckner, 84, died Friday, Jan. 2, 2009, at Texas County Memorial Hospital.

She was born March 4, 1924, in Bloodland, daughter of Porter Emmit Wiseman and Gertie Adeline Hildebrand Wiseman. She and Alvin Louis Buckner were married Aug. 16, 1954, in Fort Leonard Wood.

She was saved and baptized at an early age and was a member of the Boone Creek Baptist Church in Licking for 30 years. Some of her many jobs included working alongside her husband on the farm, employment at Licking Park Manor and caring for children in her home.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.

Survivors include four sons, Bill Sneed of St. Louis, Larry Buckner of Success and Harry Buckner and Lonnie Buckner of Licking; two daughters, Marlene Taylor of Licking and Darlene Wilson of Houston; six sisters, Ida Hudson, Gene Wolf, Pearl Pursiful, Lois Williams, Janna Williams and Nadine Vaughn; a brother, Porter Wiseman; 15 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and loving family and friends.

Services were Tuesday, Jan. 6, at Boone Creek Baptist Church with the Rev. James Miller officiating. Burial was in Boone Creek Cemetery under the direction of Evans Funeral Home.
