Filings closed Tuesday for several city, school, township and county boards.
Edward Williamson of Houston and Mark Hampton of Summersville are seeking a five-year term to the Texas County Memorial Hospital board of trustees. Hampton was appointed earlier to fill a vacancy.
Three persons are seeking three slots on the Texas County Health Department board. They are: C.J. Smith, Houston; Ron D. Stone, Licking; and Kirby Holmes, Cabool. Smith and William Bridges of Houston are the incumbents.
Lynn Cheek of Houston was the latest to seek a position on the Houston board of education. She joins Steve Pounds, Darren Ice, John Impey and Kathy Hutcheson. Pounds and Hutcheson are the incumbents.
Mayor Steve Hutcheson was the latest incumbent to file at Houston City Hall. Running unopposed are Hutcheson; Sharon Sillyman, Ward I; Bruce Wilson, Ward II; and Bill Maxwell, Ward III. The incumbent for Ward I, Marla Murphy, resigned earlier and Bill Nichols will fill the position until the election.
Incumbents Paul Murray and Loretta Hinton filed at Raymondville School.
Board members Carl Huff and Kristy Elliott refiled at Success for their positions.
Filings at the Plato Schools for a three-year term, two positions: Pete Scurlock, incumbent; John Sponsel, Mike Friend, incumbent; Kevin Christensen, Penny Morrison, incumbent; and Tina Routh. Seeking a two-year slot are: Pete Scurlock, incumbent; Lee Atterberry and Kim Murry.
