A 25-year-old woman from the St. Louis area was arrested Sunday on charges she possessed a controlled substance at a state prison at Licking.
Police Chief Scott Lindsey said Licking police were called to the South Central Correctional Center after the visitor was seen transferring a suspicious item to an inmate, who was later searched.
The woman, who has not been named until charges are filed, was taken to the Texas County Justice Center.
