Edna Marie Holland Carter, 88, was born in Dent County to Tessie (Busby) and Wilson Holland on April 16, 1921. She went to be with the Lord on April 22, 2009. at Texas County Memorial Hospital, Houston, Mo.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Charlie; and grandson, Jerry. Surviving are her two sons, Vernon Carter and wife Fredna of Branson, Mo., and Charles Carter and wife Heidi of Houston, Mo.; one sister; Eloise Holtz of Arvada, Colo.; three grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; four great great-grandchildren; three step grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Edna spent most of her life in the Houston area. She went to school at Oak Hill. She worked at the International Shoe Company from its opening to the time it closed in Houston, Mo. Edna was a member of First Christian Church, Houston, Mo.
She was a loving mother and grandmother and will be missed by family and friends.

Memorial services were held at 5:00 p.m. Saturday, April 25, 2009, at The First
Christian Church, Houston, Mo., with Pastor Matthew Anderson officiating. Cremation was under the direction of Evans Funeral Home.
