Firefighters from two departments were called Sunday to a report of a garage fire on Highway H at Tyrone.

The garage, owned by Harold Aldridge, was engulfed and endangering neighboring homes when firemen arrived. The structure was saved, but the contents were destroyed.

Clear Springs Fire Department offered mutual aid. Intercounty Electric Cooperative was able to shut off service and unhook lines to the garage, allowing departments to enter the building and attack the source of the fire.

The loss was not covered by insurance, according to the Tyrone Fire Department.
