Texas County finished second in the state after two weeks of the spring turkey season in Missouri, the Missouri Department of Conservation said Monday.

The total was 663, which was 71 below the leader, Franklin County. St. Clair placed third with 558.

The breakdown in Texas County was: 539, adult gobblers; six, bearded hens; and 118, juvenile birds.

The season runs through May 10.
