A Bucyrus woman faces additional charges following the death of the second person involved in a November 2008 accident west of Houston.
Christi L. Gabel, 38, faces two counts of involuntary manslaughter, assault and possession of a controlled substance following the accident. Emmitt “Kenny” Ward, 78, of Bucyrus, died in January. His wife, Edith, 76, died last month.
Texas County Prosecutor Mike Anderson amended his charges April 29 to reflect the latest death.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol said a southbound vehicle on Highway 17 driven by Gabel crossed the centerline and struck head-on a pickup driven by Mr. Ward.
