Houston police had a busy week responding to calls.

Here are items from the blotter:

-Heard from Ruby James, 1010 Hawthorn, who reported that that someone had damaged two mailboxes at her residence on June 4 or 5. Police said they had been struck by a vehicle, which had traveled down the ditch line making ruts in the yard.

-Charged Latisha N. Hetland, 18, of Licking, with operating a motor vehicle without insurance and leaving the scene of an accident on June 1. Police said Hetland drove a vehicle that struck the driver’s side rear door of a car driven by Patricia E. Cline, 27, of Success. The incident occurred near South Sam Houston Blvd. and West Highway 17.

Police said Cline followed Hetland to a residence. Later, Hetland told officers she fled because she did not have insurance.

-Arrested Stacy D. Sampaio, 29, of Cabool, on four warrants on June 4 from Webster County after she failed to appear there.

-Investigated a June 3 accident that police said occurred when a vehicle driven by Dalton L. Transmeier, 16, of 1312 Briarwood, struck a parked car owned by Rustin Miller, 605 Hawthorn.

-Cited Dustin H. Fithen, 22, of 204 Chestnut, with peace disturbance at 306 Broadway on June 3. According to a report, the dispute was over two cartons of cigarettes.

-Charged Andrew D. Finn, 17, of 6016 Lilly Road, with following too closely following a mishap near West Highway 17 and Dooley Street on June 4. Police said Finn’s Mustang struck a car driven by Paula A. Kinserlow, 22, of 15310 Piney Drive.

-Charged Adam J. Halstead, 18, of 306 W. Pine St., with minor in possession of alcohol on June 6 in Emmett Kelly Park.

-Estimated the loss related to a break-in at two MoDOT trailers at about $3,344. Weedeaters, a leaf blower, two chain saws and two power pruners were taken May 28 – June 1.

-Cited Billy Jack Hayes Jr., 18, of 503 S. Grand Ave., with minor in possession of alcohol on June 6.

-Cited Stephanie K. Krechel, 19, with allowing an animal to run at-large on June 3.
