Three persons were injured late Saturday evening when their horse-drawn wagon was struck by a truck near Ellis Prairie.
Tpr. Logan Elliott said Colt E. Shelton, 21, of Solo, was operating the eastbound wagon at 9:43 p.m. when it was struck by a 1994 Dodge Ram driven by Laticia L. Wilson, 18, of Summersville. Elliott said Wilson’s truck struck the rear of the wagon, ran off Highway AA and struck a tree.
Wilson was taken to Texas County Memorial Hospital with moderate injuries. A passenger in the wagon, Jami M. Colgan, 22, of Houston, was flown to St. John’s Hospital in Springfield with moderate injuries. Shelton refused treatment at the scene.
The wagon was totaled, and the truck has extensive damage.
