St. Francis Hospital names new president

Jonathan Wade was recently named president of St. John’s St. Francis Hospital in Mountain View effective Oct. 12.

Wade has served as chief executive officer of Covenant Health System in Plainview, Texas. Covenant is a 100-bed acute care hospital, primary care and specialty physician offices, and two correctional services outreach clinics with more than 350 employees. Before his work at Covenant, Wade served as senior vice president at St. John’s Hospital-Lebanon.

He has a degree in biology from Westminster College and a master’s degree in health administration from Des Moines University.

“We are excited to have Jonathan back in the Mercy family. He knows our system well and will be a great fit for the hospital and Mountain View community,” said Jon Swope, St. John’s Health System executive vice president.

Wade replaces Doug Trembath, who retires next month after a 30-plus year career in healthcare. He joined St. John’s in 2006 after serving as the president and chief executive officer at Audrain Medical Center in Mexico, Mo., from 1999-2005.
