Do you look like or know someone else who looks like a famous person or character? The University of Missouri Extension Office and Texas County Rangers 4-H Club is offering the opportunity to show that celebrity similarity and win some extra Christmas cash.

The organizations are hosting a look-a-like contest Saturday, Dec. 12, following the annual Houston Christmas parade. Participants of all ages are invited and will be asked to walk in the parade.

Voting will be after the parade. Members of the audience will be able to cast $2 votes for their favorite look-a-like in two age divisions — 15-and-under or 16-and-over. First prize is $50. Second and third place will receive gifts.

A talent competition will also be held with $75 being awarded to the winner. There is only one division.

“We are trying to think of something different that hasn’t been done in this community,” an organizer said. “A lot of families don’t participate in Halloween festivities, so the idea arose to have a contest with prizes to give those families another choice for fun.”

Entry fees are $10 for the look-a-like competition and $15 for the talent show. Entry forms are available at Janstiques, JAZ Trophies, Awards and Gifts and O’Reilly’s. A $5 late fee will be applied to any entries received after Dec. 10.

Food and drink concessions will be available along with booths and demonstrations from other extension activities. All proceeds will benefit the MU extension office and 4-H club.
