Fun for everyone was featured Saturday night in downtown Houston as merchants and organizations sponsored Halloween events.
Among the attractions: treats, the Houston Optimist Club’s haunted house and a pet costume contest sponsored by The Animal Shelter of Texas County.
Earlier: Ghosts and goblins will flock to downtown Houston on Saturday for several activities.
Here is a schedule:
—Downtown merchants hold activities from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday.
—”Trail of Terror,” a haunted house project at 119 Pine St., is open beginning at 7 p.m. Friday and 6 p.m. Saturday. Admission is $1.
—A Halloween contest for pets begins at 7 p.m. Saturday. Prizes will be awarded for most creative, the cutest and best overall.
—Some area churches also have activities planned.
