Texas County’s unemployment rate dropped to 8.3 percent in October, slightly below the average in south-central Missouri.
The average in south-central Missouri was 8.5 percent, said the Missouri Department of Economic Development.
The county’s rate in September was 8.8 percent.
Area counties and their unemployment rates were: Douglas, 7.7; Howell, 8.6; Shannon, 10.9; and Wright, 8.8.
