A Houston man is charged in connection with the theft of a bicycle and fishing poles he later resold on Houston’s Grand Avenue.
Police charged James W. Dugan, 28, of 502 S. First St., with stealing under $500.
A blue, Mongoose mountain bike was taken from a nearby residence. Dugan told police he sold the bicycle for cigarettes and soda. The bike was recovered, as were some fishing poles that later also were determined to have been stolen.
In other matters, police:
-Charged Brandon E. Johnson, 26, of Alton, with shoplifting Nov. 14 at Houston Wal-Mart. A digital camera was stolen, police said.
-Cited Jason M. Woolsey, 30, of Summersville, on Nov. 12, with failure to register motor vehicle annually.
-Cited Lois Ann Shearin, 50, of St. Clair, with following too closely following a Nov. 15 accident at South Sam Houston Blvd. and South Oak Crest Drive. Shearin’s vehicle struck a trailer being polled by Gregory B. Reed, 55, of Farmington.
