A Springfield man was charged following an incident at a downtown Houston business, Houston police said.
Lee A. Rebert, 29, of Springfield, is charged with public peace disturbance on Nov. 18 following an incident at The Office on Grand Avenue. Rebert also was arrested on two warrants – one from Texas County on charges of passing bad checks and a Howell County warrant charging him with insufficient funds. The total bond was $2,335.
He also was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia after digital scales were found in a vehicle.
In other matters, police:
-Cited Evelyn A. Havens, 59, of Summersville, with failure to yield right-of-way following a Nov. 21 accident at U.S. 63 and Highway 17. Police said Havens was crossing the highway from Texas County Memorial Hospital when she struck a vehicle operated by Mildred L. White, 58, of Houston.
-Cited Dustin E. Cross, 27, with failure to place right side of vehicle against the right side of the roadway on Nov. 19.
-Were called to a Nov. 17 accident at Nichols and Oak Hill Drive when a vehicle driven by Matthew M. Woodmansee, 20, of Cabool, swerved to avoid hitting a car head-on and ran off the road and struck a culvert. The vehicle then went airborne for 37 feet. It struck a tree before coming to rest in the ditch. Woodmansee was not injured, police said.
-Investigated a report from Lee’s Equipment on Nov. 16 that batteries worth $189 were stolen. A total of 19 were taken.
-Charged Steven F. Manson, 32, of Cabool, with DWI and failure to drive on the right half of the roadway on Nov. 22.
