June Ogden Stone, 75, died Saturday, Dec. 19, 2009, of a heart attack.

She was born May 24, 1934, daughter of Carlos and Clara Ogden.

After her husband died in 1988, she remained on land they had farmed for a period before moving to Holts Summit to be closer to her twin sister, Jean.

She enjoyed being around people. She was an active member of Hopewell Baptist Church and worked in the cafeteria at the local school. She and her friend, Joe Morrow, traveled the state to bluegrass festivals.

She was of Scott descent. She enjoyed gardening, decorating, cooking and trying new recipes. She was a seamstress and made clothes for her daughters. She and her husband, Roy, loved taking their daughters and other family members camping each summer. They enjoyed swimming at the local river and tanning.

She enjoyed sharing supper, playing racehorse, eating popcorn and watching the Saturday night movie with her siblings. She loved spending time with her grandchildren.

She was a breast cancer survivor. She accepted Christ as her savior while attending Zion Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Roy in 1988; and two brothers, Bill and Harry.

Survivors include her twin sister, Jean Dixon of Holts Summit; two daughters, Kathy Grossman of St. Joseph and Debbie Welch of Licking; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

Services were Tuesday, Dec. 22, at Fox Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor John Maynard officiating. Burial was in Licking Cemetery.
