PublishAmerica announced this week the release of “Innocence Shattered” by Heather Koontz Sprouse.

According to the company, “The book is the tale of a young teen girl dealing with the trauma of an abusive childhood. Years later, she is sent back to the life she thought she had escaped. Starting a new school, she encounters a young man who changes her views on everything, even as she is trying to escape the clutches of another man’s attempt to break her spirit. With a renewed sense of survival, the young girl must struggle through unbelievable abuse, pain and heartache in order to maintain her sanity and pursue true love. Can time heal all wounds, and will true love conquer everything?”

Sprouse was born and raised in Peoria, Ill., and she moved to Missouri at age 15. She and her husband have two children.
