Texas County’s sales tax revenue dipped about 3 percent in 2009 from the previous year, reports the Missouri Department of Revenue.

Three half-cent sales taxes collected more than $916,000 each. That represents a decline of about $29,000 on each tax, according to the tally.

The revenue generated is used for general county operations, debt repayment on the justice center and upkeep of county property.

The county does not levy a property tax, so the sales tax is the major source of revenue operations.
