LaNelle Smith Poole, 81, died Thursday, Jan. 21, 2010, at her daughter’s home in Pleasant Hope.
She was born Sept. 30, 1928, daughter of Perry and Hattie Leach Smith.
She was the youngest of eight children and accepted the Lord as her Savior at a young age.
She was selfless and had many talents, including the ability to match, coordinate, organize or decorate anything. She enjoyed laughing and bragging about her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; five sisters, Mary Harris, Carrie Kruse, Esther Patterson, Dorothy Hensler and Marjorie Rowe; a brother; Perry “Bud” Smith; and two sons, Dennis Seams and Bill Poulton.
Survivors include a sister, Ruby Phillips of Rolla; a son, Rick Seams of Lebanon; a daughter, Kathy Britton of Pleasant Hope; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; two special friends, Noel Carpenter and Norma Ascher; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Services were Monday, Jan. 25, at Palace Union Church with Eugene Earp officiating. Burial was in Palace Cemetery under the direction of Evans Funeral Home.
