The South Central Solid Waste Management District will hold a free hazardous household collection in Houston on April 10.

Several items will be collected from 9 a.m. until noon April 10 at Ozark Green Recycling Center on East Highway 17:

–Paint – latex, oil based and aerosol cans.

–Used motor oil and antifreeze from do-it yourselfers.

–Rechargeable, vehicle and button batteries.

–Pesticides and herbicides.

–Old electronics, computers, TVs and microwaves.

This collection is for households and not businesses. No containers larger than five gallons.

The funds to hold the event comes from solid waste tipping fees collected at landfills by the Missouri Department of Natural Resources. For more information, call 417-932-5345.
