A beginning gardening class is Thursday at Houston’s Loretto house.
Organized by Texas County Gardeners, the event runs from 6 to 7 p.m. A $5 donation is asked for materials and other expenses.
Plans call for classes on a variety of topics through the season. Dates and times will be announced.
On April 24, a community garden will reopen with activities for the family. A Master Gardeners class also is planned for the fall.
Texas County Gardeners meet the third Thursday of each month at 6 p.m. Officers are: Gail McHardy, president; Carlyn Campbell, vice president; and John McHardy, treasurer. A secretary has not been selected.
