Texas County’s unemployment rate stood at 9.9 percent in January, the Missouri Department of Economic Development reported. The figure was an increase of seven-tenths of a percentage point from the previous month, agency said.
The average rate in south-central Missouri was 10 percent. Area counties and their unemployment rates were: Douglas, 8.7; Howell, 9.5; Shannon, 14.1; and Wright, 10.8
