Gary Dean Cooper, 57, died Friday, Feb. 26, 2010, at his home in Cabool.
He was born September 23, 1952, son of Luther F. and Dola L. McCart Cooper.
He was a lifelong residence of Texas County. At age 16, he was involved in an automobile accident that left him disabled.
He loved his nieces and nephews. He displayed their pictures and showed interest in their accomplishments. He accepted Christ as a young man and was a member of the Free Will Baptist Church of Cabool.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include his wife, Becky M. Hobbs Cooper; two brothers, Bill of Dora and Larry of Houston; three sisters, Betty Burton of Tulsa, Okla., Judi Lyons of The Villages, Fla., Shirley Downey of St. Clair; an uncle; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Burial will be at a later date in Cabool Cemetery under the direction of Elliott-Gentry-Carder Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to the Cabool High School football team.
