A state grant will lead to the development of another industrial park in Houston.

The City of Houston plans to develop a 57-acre tract in the northeast part of the community as an industrial park.

The property is situated east of the Houston Area Chamber of Commerce Fairgrounds and is seen as the next step in job recruitment as the Houston Industrial Park on North Industrial Drive is full.

A hearing is set for Monday to consider comments for a Community Development Block Grant application that would allow for construction of infrastructure at the park, such as sewer, electrical, water and a road. The total project cost is estimated at $870,000. Of that amount, the city would contribute $233,750 in in-kind labor by city crews.

The hearing is at 7 p.m. at Houston City Hall.
