Please join University of Missouri Extension and 4-H at the Silver Nickel Arena in Raymondville on Monday, March 29th at 6:00 p.m. Cody Nickels, ranch owner, will discuss the possibility of youth hosting horse shows and practicing at his arena to develop equine experience and engagement.

All youth interested in working with horses are invited to attend from Texas, Phelps, and Dent counties. 4-H youth specialist Jenny Flatt will be available to enroll youth in the 4-H program for horse projects. 4-H is a positive youth development organization aimed at encouraging youth to learn project and life skills. Youth must be ages 8 to 18 to enroll in the horse project with 4-H. 4-H dues are $10 for this project.

“I encourage all youth interested in horses to come to this orientation to learn about the partnership we can make with the Silver Nickel Arena. I am encouraged that local community members are interested in helping youth develop a love for horses. I think that this will be a wonderful opportunity for community members to see youth in horse shows, demonstrating the skills they have learned,” said Flatt.
