Texas County Memorial Hospital will host a ribbon cutting and open house in early May for its new clinic and ambulance and base in Mountain Grove.
The ribbon cutting will be at the front of the clinic and ambulance base at 4 p.m. May 4 with the Mountain Grove Chamber of Commerce. An open house will follow the ribbon cutting until 6 p.m. TCMH staff will give tours of the clinic and ambulance base.
Healthcare providers at the TCMH Mountain Grove Clinic are taking appointments. The clinic will open May 5.
Michael Moore, a family practice physician, will see patients two days a week in the clinic. Moore has been working with TCMH part-time in Houston since 2008. He will collaborate with Sheri Stofer, physician assistant at the clinic.
Stofer, a longtime Mountain Grove resident, will see patients full-time at the new clinic. In addition to seeing patients of all ages, Stofer is also a certified diabetes educator.
Charlie Rasmussen, D.O., a family practice physician and obstetrician at the TCMH Medical Complex in Houston, will provide a once a week clinic for pregnant women or women that are planning to become pregnant. Rasmussen has worked at TCMH since 2007, and he delivers babies at the hospital.
The TCMH emergency medical services department has operated ambulance service in Mountain Grove since August 2009, working out of a temporary base in a duplex in Mountain Grove. Ambulance personnel will begin operating out of the new base by May 1.
