Laura Lea Dixon, 68, daughter of Raymond and Olive (Pearcy) Dixon, was born July 30, 1941, in Yukon, Mo. She passed away April 10, 2010, in St. John’s Medical Center in Springfield, Mo., after fighting a prolonged illness. She was surrounded by her family at her passing.
Ms. Dixon was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Loretta (Tiny) and Wanda Marie.
She is survived by three children, Billy and wife, Valorie, of Kansas City, Mo., Jimmy and wife, Lisa, of Cabool, Mo., and Stephanie of Houston, Mo.; five grandchildren, Alissa, Justin, Jamie Ray, Jaret and Jordan; three great-grandchildren; two brothers, Bill Dixon of Springfield, Mo., and Jim Dixon of Houston, Mo.; and also a childhood and lifelong friend, Wanda Lee Gaston of Houston, M0.
Laura Lea enjoyed reading. Her greatest love was taking care of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Graveside services were 1 p.m. Wednesday, April 14, in Big Creek Cemetery with Wesley Wallace officiating. Pallbearers were
Jamie Tate, Justin Reed, Alissa Tate, Jaret Siegler, Jordan Siegler and Monty Masengill.
