The City of Houston this morning issued a peak alert this morning, asking residents to conserve energy.
City Administrator Larry Sutton said the weather forecast is for hot weather, which will send electrical meters spinning.
A utility’s peak load affects its electricity cost and this amount is ultimately passed along to its customers. During these times the city asks residents to conserve on energy use.
