A Summersville man was arrested Tuesday on a felony warrant alleging he assaulted a member of the Texas County Sheriff’s Department.
According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Charles W. Mings, 44, was taken to the Texas County Jail on felony charges of assaulting a law enforcement officer.
Lt. Melissa Dunn of the sheriff’s department said the assault occurred about two weeks ago. She said Mings had abused his prescription medications and when officers attempted to take him into custody, he resisted.
Dunn said Mings was initially taken for a psychiatric evaluation.
