Military veteran

Adam Huel Robertson, 78, son of Glen and Martha (Haliburton) Robertson, was born Aug. 26, 1932, at Bendavis, Mo. He died Sunday, Nov. 21, 2010, at his home in Houston, Mo.

Huel was raised at Bendavis and attended Dunsnore and Alice schools before going to Mountain Grove High School, graduating in 1950. He accepted Jesus Christ at a young age.

He met Gloria June Gettys on Feb. 22, 1951, and was married April 5, 1952, at Hardy, Ark. To this union there were four children.

Huel joined the Air Force in May 1952 and honorably served his country at Edwards Air Force Base in California.

Huel was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Lonnie Robertson and Ralph Robertson.

Huel, as he was known by most, loved his wife Gloria of 58 years, going fishing, hunting and working on their farm just east of Houston, Mo.

He worked at International Shoe in Houston, Mo., and Mid- America Dairymen at Cabool, Mo., until his retirement on Sept. 30, 1994.

Huel is survived by his wife, Gloria of the home in Houston, Mo.; one daughter, Barbara Holaday and husband, Gary, of Bucyrus, Mo.; three sons, Mike Robertson and wife, Donna, of Bendavis, Mo., Randy Robertson and wife, Chris, of Las Vegas, Nev., and Glen Robertson and wife, Holly, of Houston, Mo.; eight grandchildren, Phillip Curry and Andrea Curry of Houston, Mo., Sarah Shelton of Graff, Mo., Cody, Cassidy and Tara Robertson of Las Vegas, Nev., and Cassidy and Cade Robertson of Houston, Mo.; three great-grandchildren, Tyler Curry of Houston, Mo., and Henry and Ella Shelton of Graff, Mo.; three sisters, Huan Campbell of Bowling Green, Ky., Glenet Quinn of Mountain Grove, Mo., and Alice McCall of Cabool, Mo.; three brothers, Austin Robertson of Columbia, Mo., Billy Robertson of Wilmington, N.C., and Rupert Robertson of Bendavis, Mo.; and many nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Huel was a wonderful, husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather and will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

Visitation is 10-11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 26, 2010, at Evans Funeral Home. Services are 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 26, 2010, at Evans Funeral Home with Rev. Curtis Dowden officiating. Pallbearers are Scott Gettys, John Gettys, Phillip Curry, Cody Robertson, Bill Schafer and Mike Best. Burial with full military honors will follow at Ozark Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Evans Funeral Home.
