KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Beth Phillips, U.S. attorney for the Western District of Missouri, announced Monday that Assistant U.S. Attorney Linda Parker Marshall will lead the efforts in this district in connection with the Justice Department’s nationwide Election Day program for the Nov. 2  elections.

Marshall has been appointed to serve as the district election officer for the Western District of Missouri, and in that capacity is responsible for overseeing the district’s handling of complaints of election fraud and voting rights abuses in consultation with Justice Department headquarters.

Phillips urged the public to report any fraud or voting rights abuses they witness.

In order to respond to complaints of election fraud or voting rights abuses on election day, and to ensure that such complaints are directed to the appropriate authorities, Marshall will be on duty in this district while the polls are open. In addition, the FBI will have special agents available in each field office and resident agency throughout the country to receive allegations of election fraud and other election abuses on election day. In this district, the FBI can be reached by the public at 816-512-8629 or 816-512-8200.

As district election officer for the Western District of Missouri, Marshall will join officers in other districts as part of the Justice Department’s nationwide Ballot Access and Voting Integrity Initiative.
