A Norwood woman was injured in a crash on U.S. 60 near Cabool.

A Norwood woman was hurt Tuesday night on U.S. 60 east of Cabool when her vehicle struck a trailer-truck unit in the rear, the Missouri State Highway Patrol said.

Troopers said the wreck occurred when the big rig driven by Thomas R. Cantrell, 51, pulled out of the Midwest Truck Stop parking lot and began traveling west on U.S. 60. The 2007 Nissan Sentra operated by Debra L. Shelton, 57, then struck the rear of the trailer.

Troopers said Shelton, who had minor injuries, was taken to Texas County Memorial Hospital by ambulance. Her vehicle sustained extensive damage.

Both drivers were wearing seat belts.

Tpr. Logan Elliott, with assistance from Tpr. Marty Wiseman and Cpl. Curtis Haden, investigated. Members of Cabool First Responders and Cabool Fire Department also were called to the scene.
