Mary Ethel Crabtree, 90, of Tyrone, died Friday, Jan. 21, 2011.
She was born March 24, 1920, in Paint Rock daughter of Franklin Grogan and Mollie Ford. She and Rufus Crabtree were married March 15, 1948.
She lived most of her married life in the Tyrone community. She briefly lived in Oregon while her husband worked in the timber industry before the birth of their first child. Prior to her marriage, she had lived and worked in West Plains and St. Louis.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her stepmother, Iva Grogan; her husband, Rufus; eight siblings who died in infancy; and a brother, Tony.
Survivors include two sons, David Crabtree of Republic and Carl Crabtree of Elk Creek; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Services were Monday, Jan. 24, at Ozark Baptist Church with the Rev. Kendall Ford officiating. Burial was in the Antioch Cemetery under the direction of Elliott-Gentry-Carder Funeral Home.
