A Cabool man was found guilty of unlawful possession of a weapon last week following a bench trial
Lloyd Hill, a convicted felon, faces up to 15 years in prison. He will be sentenced May 5.
Attorney General Chris Koster said Hill’s car was parked off by itself and against a wooden pillar in a dark parking lot near the Mineral Springs River Access in Texas County when a police officer approached the car to do a “well-being check.” Upon the officer’s request for identification, Hill handed over his driver’s license. As the officer was returning to his vehicle to check Hill’s identity, he heard something being thrown onto the gravel. The officer then observed a .45 caliber semi-automatic handgun a few feet from the car.
A search of Hill at the jail found him to be in possession of two live .45 caliber rounds. Hill is prohibited from possessing any firearms.
