One arrest was made and several citations were issued by the Houston Police Department after an April 8 disturbance in Houston.

The incident started when an officer went to a Hawthorn Street residence at about 10:30 p.m. to speak to two residents who had complained of loud music coming from a neighbor’s house.

The officer then went to the neighbor’s house, at 716 Augusta Street.

As a result of the ensuing investigation, which a Missouri State Highway Patrol trooper assisted in, several citations were handed out and one arrest was made.

Arrested was a resident of the home, 40-year-old Shawn K. Soto. While the officer was waiting for the trooper to arrive in order to administer breath tests to several minors on the scene, Soto became angry and started yelling.

When she wouldn’t calm down, the officer handcuffed her put her in his police car. Soto then began to kick the windshield and dash and ended up kicking the officer several times. She was taken to the Texas County Jail and charged with assault of a law enforcement officer, resisting arrest, interfering with arrest and multiple counts of supplying intoxicants to a minor.

Three teenage boys on the scene received citations for minor in possession of alcohol by consumption, including Shad P. Jones, 19, of 16684 Brushy Creek Road in Houston, Justin M. Wilcox, 19, of 821 Dooley Street in Houston, and Donald D. Dooms, 18, of 777 W. Highway 17 Apt. 13 in Houston.

Christopher B. Colgan, 19, of 716 Augusta Street in Houston, was cited for resisting a police officer by fleeing.

The following are other matters recently dealt with by Houston police.

April 5

–An officer went to the KFC/Taco Bell in Houston at about 9:25 p.m. regarding a theft that had reportedly taken place there.

The officer spoke to a shift manager who said that $300 cash had been taken from her purse and $50 from an employee’s coat pocket. The purse was reportedly on a filing cabinet in the manager’s office and the coat was hanging in the office.

The employee reported having seen another employee go into the office and heard him going through the file cabinet.

The officer returned the next day in an attempt to contact the other employee but learned he had been fired. He did contact him on April 7, but the former employee denied involvement in the theft.

April 16

–Daniel A. Rogers, 74, of Cloverdale Road in Cabool, was issued citations for failure to register a motor vehicle and driving with a suspended license following a traffic stop at about 1:20 a.m.

An officer made the stop after observing that the white 1974 Chevrolet pickup Rogers was driving southbound on U.S. 63 did not have operational taillights. A computer check revealed that Rogers’ vehicle’s plates had expired in January 2009 and that his driver’s license was suspended.
