Heavy rains that dumped about 11 inches of precipitation on the area cut short games and canceled many more.
A full slate of games Monday were postponed as a steady downpour soaked playing fields. The baseball game at Ava, tennis at Liberty and track at Willow Springs were all put on hold.
On Thursday, a baseball game and tennis match were cut short as the storm swept into the region.
The HHS baseball team played three innings of its home game against Cabool before it was suspended. It will resume in the top of the fourth inning at 4 p.m. Wednesday
On Friday, the Tigers will play Dora at 6:30 p.m. in the opening round West Plains Tournament. They play Naylor at 1 p.m. Saturday.
Monday’s game against Hartville has been canceled. Instead, Houston will travel to Ava for a make-up game.
The tennis team completed all six of its singles matches against Willow Springs before the match was prematurely ended prior to doubles play. The Tigers lost 1-5.
Houston’s lone victory was Austin Bathon’s 8-3 win in No. 3 singles.
“Austin played his best match of the year,” Tigers coach John Jordan said. “He has the tools to be a very good player. We have been waiting for him to break out and play the way he is capable. This should really help his confidence.”
Michael Castleman and Randy Barker lost their respective matches 8-0. Michael Shea, Drake Bell and Madison Bonebreak were each defeated 8-2.
