A 33-year-old Houston woman reported Nov. 1 to the Texas County Sheriff’s Department that her Emmett Kelly Road residence had been broken into and that the contents of several jars of change had been swiped.
The woman told an investigating officer that the total amount stolen of change was about $440, and that the back door to her home had been damaged so that the lock no longer worked.
She also stated that her Dodge pickup had been pilfered and that $20 in change was missing from it.
The woman named a Houston man as a suspect. The officer stated he would contact him.
It’s the second report of a similar incident recently in the county.
